The Gikongiro Gisozi Metal Market

Wiley, Merritt and I spent the last two days in Kigali’s metal market at Gikongiro Gisozi.  We were looking for pieces of metal that could be used to build the sluicegates for the weir and settling tank.  The sluicegates will control the flow of water entering the settling tank and from there the flow of water entering the tube to the turbine.  After much haggling over the course of two days, we found everything we needed.  We were even able to get all the welding done that we thought appropriate at this stage of the project.Image
